Key Requirements & Guidelines

  • Selling Your Work: This is a fully operational art market. You are here to display, discuss, and sell your original work to the public throughout the 4-hour event window.

  • Live Process Demonstration Requirement: To add an engaging, educational element for visitors, all artists will give brief, observation-only demonstrations of their skills or studio process. The heart of the day is to spark a genuine curiosity for the arts for guests of all ages throughout the entire Eagan Art House.

    • Demos will last roughly 10 minutes or less and will be scheduled across the afternoon to align with other Eagan Art House programming.

    • Because this is an observation format, you are not required or expected to provide materials for public make-and-take activities, keeping your material overhead low.

  • Environmental Responsibility & Sustainability: In alignment with the Eagan Art House’s commitment as a sustainable facility and the City of Eagan’s Climate Action Plan, participating artists are strongly encouraged to incorporate eco-friendly practices into their booth setup, materials, packaging, or studio methods where possible (e.g., plastic-free/recyclable packaging, eco-friendly mediums, or zero-waste habits).

  • Medium & Curation: With only 8-10 spots available, we are seeking a diverse variety of visual arts to ensure a well-rounded marketplace, such as: painting, woodwork, metalwork, drawing, textile, fiber arts, paper arts, glasswork, ceramics/pottery, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, book arts, photography, etc. All work must be original, family-friendly, and accessible to all ages.

  • Selection Process: Artists will be selectively curated to build a balanced variety of mediums. Final vendor approval is pending city council approval. Preference will be given to visual artists living, working, or creating in Dakota County.

LOGISTICS & SET-UP

  • Environment: This is an outdoor event held on the grounds of the Eagan Art House.

  • Weather Policy: This is a rain-or-shine outdoor event.

  • Utilities: Please note there is no electricity or water available outdoors. Plan your display and demonstrations accordingly.

  • Provided by Artist: Artists are fully responsible for providing their own tent, tables, chairs, display infrastructure, signage, and inventory.
